  • Saving Lives: Enhancing Cardiac Care in Republic County

    Sudden cardiac arrest is a critical issue in Republic County, where AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are used in only 13% of cases, and just 7% of the time by laypersons. To address this, Republic County Hospital
    (RCH) launched a crucial initiative to improve cardiac resuscitation by purchasing a Hospital ZOLL defibrillator and ten portable ZOLL AEDs.

    The Republic County Hospital was able to purchase a Panda Infant Warmer for their OB department with funds from a grant from the Republic County Community Foundation.

  • USD 109

    USD 109 FCS room at Republic County Junior/Senior High School needed a more functional work space for students. Students who are able to utilize a space and use it to learn culinary skills, such as a knife skill competition, can apply this to home or a job in the future. This project provided extra seats for students within the classroom to see the smartboard and extra space on tables to write.

    Thanks to grant funding from the community foundation, USD 109 was able to provide a digital resource curriculum and equipment for the general science classroom to perform experiments and give more hands-on science experience.
