Female graduate or female student qualifying for graduation from a high school in Republic County, Kansas or a non-traditional student living in Republic County, Kansas
CRITERIA:
Applicants must be a female graduate or a female student in good standing qualifying for graduation from a high school in Republic County, Kansas, or a non-traditional student living in Republic County, Kansas. high school may include traditional high schools, home school, and online high schools
Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time course of study at Kansas college, university, vocational or technical school in the academic year for which the scholarship is applied
Applicants must plan to return to a rural community post-graduation and will submit the following items to demonstrate their commitment:
- An essay describing how living in a rural community has influenced them and why they are choosing to move back
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, future employer, etc., stating why applicant will be an asset to their rural community
Preference will be given to applicants with solidified post-collegiate plans above those with an uncertain career track and vague ideas about returning to a rural area
Past scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply for renewal as part of the total applicant pool.
