JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Republic County Community Foundation Director

Immediate Supervisor:  Republic County Community Foundation Advisory Board

Status: Full-time, non-exempt employee (40 hours/week)

Compensation: Annual compensation package $45,000-$60,000 based on experience.

Purpose:  To provide support and leadership to the Republic County Community Foundation Board in building a viable community foundation with the support of the Greater Salina Community Foundation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Effective oral and written communicator
  • Work collaboratively with advisory board members
  • Experience with social media communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and ability to learn new software
  • Ability to interpret financial documents
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to create meaningful relationships with board members, donors, and community leaders
  • Valid Kansas Driver’s license

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Board Relations

A. Implement advisory board directives

B. Provide assessment and evaluation of organizational activities and projects to board

i. Produce and distribute regular operational reports to board (written and verbal)

C. Assist board president with board agenda and supporting board activities packet

D. Positive stewardship for RCCF donors and prospective donors

i. Actively seeks opportunities to speak about RCCF before donors and community groups

E. Help develop and implement a communications plan to raise community awareness of the Community Foundation

F. Help coordinate RCCF programs and events including Match Month, etc.

G. Understand and apply GSCF policies and procedures

H. Serves as liaison between RCCF and GSCF

i. Work with other GSCF staff members as needed

I. Flexibility to changes as needed

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT EXPECTATIONS

A. Participates in training provided by GSCF and regional or national trainings as recommended, including Foundation Fundamentals training and KACF annual conference

B. Skills development as identified by the board

i. Seeks other opportunities for learning in the field

C. Assist the board with long-term vision and goals

D. Increase foundation’s ability to add funds and grow assets

E. Increase planned gifts for future growth
