Scholarship Recipients Announced

Community foundation awards scholarships

BELLEVILLE, Kan.— The Republic County Community Foundation has awarded over $15,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The following students received scholarships:

  • The Amos and Joyce Blecha 4-H Scholarship is for seniors graduating from a Republic County high school who are involved in 4-H. Kaylee Bray, Scandia, and Tyler Stindt, Belleville, each received a $500 scholarship.

  • The Johnson-Granstedt Memorial Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Republic County, with preference to USD 426 students. Ethan Benne, Courtland, received a $1,500 scholarship. Destiny Hammer, Scandia, received a $1,446 scholarship.

  • The Florea Family Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors from a Republic County high school planning to major in Business Administration or Agricultural Economics. Destiny Hammer, Scandia, received a $1,000 scholarship.

  • The Scott Family Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Republic County, with preference to USD 109 students. Ethan Benne, Courtland, and Katrina Ball, Belleville, each received a $2,000 scholarship. Amanda Baxa, Cuba, Adara Warner, Concordia, Grant White, Belleville, Brailyn Carlgren, Courtland, Trevor Martin, Belleville, and Tobi Wilber, Belleville, each received a renewed $1,000 scholarship.

  • The Joyce and Jim Hill Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Republic County. Taylor Cherney, Cuba, Charity Tabor, Belleville, and Riley Jacobson, Scandia, each received a $300 scholarship.
