Community foundation accepting applications for fall grants

The Republic County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for fall grants. Online applications are due Sunday, September 15, 2019. Over $75,000 is available to charitable projects in Republic County. Grants will be awarded from the following funds: Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund – available for programs and projects that address education, health care, community social services and security, conservation and environment, arts and culture, and community beautification. Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Republic County, North Central Kansas Health Care Foundation Fund and Republic County Health Fund – support public health programs that support and encourage healthy living across Republic County. Community foundation awards scholarships

The Republic County Community Foundation has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The Amos and Joyce Blecha 4-H Scholarship is for seniors graduating from a Republic County high school who are involved in 4-H. Anna Pachta, Belleville, received a $700 scholarship and Cheneal Benne, Courtland, received a $250 scholarship. The Johnson-Granstedt Memorial Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Republic County, with preference to USD 426 students.
